After-School Program
The perfect program for busy kids, delivered after school Monday - Friday.
Our After School Program is a great solution for post academics, giving kids time away from home, free play, social interaction and coach-led activities while giving parents a few hours.
We offer pick-up at local Long Island City, NY, schools, including Hunters Point Elementary (PS 384), The Robert F. Wagner, Jr. School (PS 78).
After school, your kids spend the next few hours having a blast. After School is time for free play and snacks, followed by coach-led activities that get your kiddo moving and socializing with others.
Independent Play - kids often participate in Art, Gardening, Fort Building, Rope Swinging, and a Survey of Sports, to name a few!
Coach-led Activities - students focus on various activities that reinforce our Gantry Kids & Teen values. These After School activities change with the semester, so your child will always have something exciting to look forward to.

We take a holistic view in helping your child grow!
Physical Activity: organized games and team activities teach kids communication, leadership, and resilience in an organic setting
Outdoor Time: humans are grounded in nature. Being outside helps regulate and restore kids' nervous systems, reset circadian rhythms, ward off illness and building immunity no matter the weather
Unstructured Play: adult free, peer only play give kids autonomy, choice, and down time. In a natural environment, kids learn effective communication, conflict resolution, and their like and dislikes. It's also essential for building self-esteem
Wellness: global, community, and individual wellness is our focus. Kids have an opportunity to give back to the world, understand their impact and that humanity extends beyound their own self. We take care of ourselves, our neighborhood, and the planet

With a semester commitment and two day minimum attendance, payments can be made in installments each month. Extended hours available. Keep scrolling for more information!

Our Program
- 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Need a little extra time? Join our Walking Bus from 5:30-6 PM
- Walking Bus, led by a coach, drops kids home between 5:30-6 PM
- For Grades K through 4; we accept younger athletes on a case-by-case bases
- Two day minimum/week
- Coach-led and supervised
- Pick-up from PS 384, PS 78 & GVS. Go to school nearby? We'll pick your child up from the LIC fun bus stop for an additional charge*
- Free play/decompression time, time for a snack, and activities. Art, Gardening, Fort Building, Rope Swinging, and a Survey of Sports to name a few! Contact us about our schedule
- Daily outdoor time all year round
- Semester-based pricing, payable on the first of each month
- 10% sibling discount
- The commitment is for the semester, no cancellations, make-ups, transfers or credits

*Bus stop pick up is for athletes who attend school out of the area. We cannot accommodate pick ups for bus stops from PS 78, 384 or GVS.

Critical Learning through Experience & Movement!
We do this through a combination of Physical Activity, Outdoor Time, Unstructured Play, & Community Development. We use fitness as a vehicle for kids to grow and experience life and develop into great humans!
What do kids get from your afterschool program?
On the daily our after school program gives kids free play, access to risky play, which enhances self regulation, coach led activities and lots of agency over themselves as well as physical activity!

What do the kids do each day/week?
Our scheduled activities are:
Monday - Survey of Sports - an opportunity for kids to try new sports, team and individual without the pressure or commitment. So many talents and interests are unlocked here!
Tuesday - Fitness Class with Coach Ryan. Coach Ryan takes the kids through a fun and challenging workout and teaches them a few skills. The kids are engaged and trying to do their best always!
Wednesday - Community Day. Athletes learn about our community and participate in taking care of our parks and playgrounds.

Will you pick my child up from school?
We pick up from PS384, PS78, and few other select local schools. Our trained coach will walk children to the gym to decompress and for outdoor time before hitting the playgrounds on our community and sport days.
Can I pack a snack for my child?
Yes, of course! Kids are HUNGRY afterschool and we encourage parents to pack an afterschool snack and provide time for your child to eat and decompress once they arrive at the gym and before any activities are in full swing.
When is pick-up?
Parent pick up is between 5-5:30 with a walking bus that will drop your child home by 6 pm.
Can I just do 1 day a week?
No, we have a minimum of 2 days a week to ensure your child integrates with our program and fellow athletes.
Can I register month-to-month?
No, you are required to commit for semester. Again, consistency is important both for your child and the others in the program. It valuable when students are getting to build relationships and work on social skills together and the consistency of fellow students supports that.
